Description

ACE-031 is a recombinant fusion protein composed of the extracellular domain of the human Activin Type IIB receptor (ActRIIB) linked to the Fc region of human IgG1.
It acts as a decoy receptor that binds circulating myostatin (GDF-8) and related ligands of the TGF-β superfamily, thereby preventing them from interacting with endogenous cell-surface receptors.

By blocking myostatin and activin A signaling, ACE-031 allows for up-regulation of muscle growth and enhanced skeletal muscle hypertrophy in preclinical models.
It has been utilized in research investigating muscle wasting disorders, cachexia, sarcopenia, and metabolic regulation associated with TGF-β pathway modulation.
