Description
GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2) is a synthetic hexapeptide and a potent ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) agonist known for its ability to stimulate pulsatile growth hormone (GH) release from the anterior pituitary.
It acts independently of GHRH by binding to the GH secretagogue receptor, enhancing endogenous GH secretion through calcium and phospholipase C signaling pathways.
GHRP-2 has been widely studied for its effects on muscle growth, lipid metabolism, immune regulation, and recovery processes.
Compared to GHRP-6, GHRP-2 produces a stronger GH release with reduced stimulation of appetite, prolactin, and cortisol, making it a preferred model for studying GH axis modulation without confounding endocrine effects.
In research settings, it’s frequently paired with CJC-1295 or Ipamorelin to explore synergistic effects on GH/IGF-1 secretion and tissue anabolism.
