Description
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH 1–44) engineered for increased stability, receptor affinity, and half-life compared to endogenous GHRH.
It functions as a pituitary GHRH receptor agonist, inducing pulsatile GH release and subsequent IGF-1 elevation, making it an ideal compound for studying somatotropic axis modulation.
Through its extended half-life and selective receptor activation, Tesamorelin allows consistent evaluation of GH-dependent metabolic and anabolic effects, including lipid mobilization, fat oxidation, and muscle tissue maintenance.
Preclinical research has demonstrated pronounced effects on visceral adiposity reduction, mitochondrial metabolism, and protein synthesis pathways via IGF-1 mediated signaling.
Compared to shorter GHRH analogs like Sermorelin, Tesamorelin’s stabilized structure provides prolonged receptor activation and a more sustained GH pulse profile, making it valuable for endocrine and metabolic research.
